Salary Range: $19.69 - $24.79 per hour (hires new to state service start at the minimum)

The Connecticut Lottery Corporation (CLC), is a quasi-public agency of the State of Connecticut. We are hiring a part-time Sales Clerk to work 20 – 25 hours/week in our Total Mortgage Arena - Bridgeport retail location as part of our growing Sports Betting division. This facility operates 7 days a week including holidays. The anticipated schedule for this position is Sundays & Mondays 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. and Fridays & Saturdays 1:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. Additional hours may be available based on agency operating needs.

In this role, you will assist customers; operate a cash register and be responsible for performing opening and closing procedures; receive payments; verify/check customer identification; prepare sales slips; prepare inventory of stock; maintain order and cleanliness while performing other related duties as required.

Experience and Qualifications

To be considered you should have: knowledge of office systems and procedures; the ability to perform a full range of clerical tasks; good interpersonal skills; the ability to follow oral and written instructions; skill in performing arithmetic computations; the ability to operate office equipment which may include personal computers, computer terminals or other electronic equipment; the ability to read, understand and apply a variety of materials as well as the ability to handle cash transactions.

Preferred candidates will have experience in a retail environment and must feel comfortable interacting with members of the public.

Physical Requirements

Incumbents in this class may be required to stand for extended periods.
