Lottery Systems Specialist

Department: Administration & Operations
Location: Wallingford, CT

Salary Range: $66,400 - $90,000 annual

The Connecticut Lottery Corporation (CLC) is a quasi-public agency of the State of Connecticut. With a dedicated team of nearly 140 employees, we proudly partner with over 2,800 retailers statewide to sell our lottery and sports betting products. We maintain a strong focus on responsible gambling, generating over $1.5 billion in annual sales and contributing more than $400 million to the state’s General Fund last year.

Position Overview

The CLC is seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Lottery Systems Specialist to join our Operations team. This position plays a vital role in supporting the CLC’s gaming systems and related initiatives, including:

  • Retailer Gaming System
  • iLottery Gaming System
  • 2nd Chance Application
  • Internal Control System (ICS)

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with software testing, documentation, and validation processes, and will work collaboratively with both internal teams and external vendors to ensure systems operate with accuracy, reliability, and integrity.

This position is on-site and requires an in-office presence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute detailed test plans based on system requirements and specifications.
  • Perform functional and regression testing on all Lottery systems for each software release.
  • Document test procedures, results, and findings with precision and clarity.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to gather requirements and assess new features or system changes.
  • Provide training and knowledge sharing to team members on Lottery systems.
  • Manage the Operations Ticketing System daily.
  • Serve as a liaison with lottery system vendors and regulatory authorities, ensuring compliance and transparency.
  • Participate in system demonstrations, user acceptance testing (UAT), and ongoing development initiatives.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (advanced Excel required) and ticketing systems (e.g., Jira, Zoho).
  • Solid understanding of software testing methodologies and quality assurance best practices.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle repetitive tasks efficiently while maintaining high accuracy.
  • Experience working in regulated environments or with compliance processes (preferred).
  • Capable of managing priorities and working independently or collaboratively in a team environment.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Four (4) years of experience in software testing methodologies and/or project management required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred. (College training may substitute for experience: 15 semester hours = ˝ year, up to 4 years.)
  • Demonstrated experience creating documentation and reports using Microsoft Office.
  • Proven ability to lead and train individuals or small groups effectively.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
