Lottery Sales Representative 1

SALARY: $63,777.00-$82,530.00 (new hires must start at the minimum)

The Connecticut Lottery Corporation (CLC), headquartered in Wallingford, CT is a quasi-public agency of the State of Connecticut. Through iLottery , our Sports Betting partners and the over 2,800 retailers selling our Lottery products statewide, we generate revenue for the State of Connecticut. With a strong focus on responsible gambling, we have achieved over $1 billion in yearly sales and returned over $400 million to the State’s general fund last year alone.

We are currently seeking a motivated, customer service, sales driven professional to join our team as a Lottery Sales Representative 1 (LSR1). You will be responsible for providing support and promoting Lottery ticket sales and merchandising to your assigned Lottery retailers in Shelton, Derby, Ansonia, Woodbridge, Orange and West Haven. You will also be responsible for:

  • Advising retailers on effective use of point-of-sale materials, inventory management, provide information, education and support about Lottery games, policies and procedures.
  • Preparing and submitting sales reports as required.
  • May promote lottery products to established retail accounts through telephone contact, in person visits, monitoring of supply allocation levels and assist with securing orders as needed.
  • Promoting retailer incentives and consumer promotions and address retailer concerns and issues.
  • Performs related duties as required.

Experience, knowledge, skills & abilities

The selected candidate will have a minimum of six (6) years’ experience in outside sales involving direct responsibility for servicing established accounts and/or contacting prospects to promote products and/or services to companies. College training may be substituted for experience subject to applicable rules.

To be successful in this role, you should also have:

  • Experience in customer service, telephone selling, promoting products and the ability to deal with a diverse customer base.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office as well as the ability to learn new computer software systems.
  • A valid Connecticut driver’s license.
  • Bilingual and strong customer service experience is a plus.
