Product Manager, Lottery Draw Games

Location: Wallingford, CT

Located in Wallingford, Connecticut, the Connecticut Lottery Corporation (CLC) is a quasi-public agency of the State of Connecticut. We are currently seeking a dynamic and motivated professional to join the Lottery Games Team as a Product Manager to manage the draw games portfolio. Reporting to the Director of Lottery Games, this individual will manage strategic planning and game development activities associated with the draw games sold through the retail terminal and iLottery.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop product plans for the draw game portfolio to optimize game performance. Monitor the draw game portfolio and recommend appropriate actions to maintain high performance. Knowledgeable of new games, trends, and promotions throughout the industry. Serve as the subject matter expert on draw games.
  • Research new game concepts, designs, as well as add-on features and bonus opportunities for existing and proposed new games. Assist in new product development activities by collaborating with vendors and CLC departments to lead game development for introduction in market. Recommend and manage research projects working with gaming and research partners. Assess testing methods to make sure the results are accurate and reliable.
  • Manage the product lifecycle of draw games monitoring KPIs, preparing analysis of game sales to identify any weaknesses, new profitable opportunities and recommending new draw and digital game introductions. Collaborate with CLC departments and vendor partners to support draw product lines. Work closely with the draw game vendor(s) and all Lottery departments to ensure successful game launches and ongoing game support.
  • Create, review, and improve game development process. Additionally, evaluates and recommends game prize structure, ticket designs, game user interfaces, system software requirements, and User Acceptance Testing.
  • Perform ad-hoc reports to translate data into meaningful insights in areas such as game promotions, sales performance, game profitability, game activity, and retailer activity.
  • Consult with Digital Marketing Manager & CRM Manager to define player segments and game promotions that drive overall performance of draw games sold though iLottery.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of CLC’s Gaming System and iLottery platform functionality related to product offerings, retailer equipment, promotion capabilities, and user experience.
  • Collaborate with partner states in the development of multi-state games. Provide draw game data and information for industry publications, other lotteries, staff and stakeholders.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of lottery gaming systems, as well as draw games and monitor games.
  • Knowledge of product research methodologies and execution.
  • Ability to compile, analyze and present data through reports and presentations.
  • Knowledge of new product development stages, project management techniques, basic statistical techniques, and MSO software.
  • Experienced in using Excel, Outlook, Microsoft Office, and File Transfer Protocol.
  • Skills in handling large amounts of data and translating data into actionable plans.
  • Strong organizational skills with focus on prioritizing, strategic thinking, and marketing research techniques.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and written, including presentations to large groups.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, marketing or related field.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years product management/development experience.
  • Lottery experience preferred.

CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES

  • Valid State Driver's License.
