Sales Clerk

Salary Range: $20.18- $25.41 hourly rate effective June 28, 2024 (new hires must start at the minimum)

The Connecticut Lottery Corporation (CLC), is a quasi-public agency of the State of Connecticut. We have an immediate opportunity for a dependable individual interested in a part-time Sales Clerk opportunity working 20 – 25 hours/week in our Hartford, XL Center Sports Betting retail location The anticipated schedule for this position is Sundays & Mondays 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. and Fridays & Saturdays 1:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. and may include holidays. Additional hours may be available based on agency operating needs.

In this role, you will assist customers with questions; accurately perform cash related transactions; be responsible for performing opening and closing procedures; request/verify customer identification; prepare sales slips; prepare inventory of stock; maintain order and cleanliness while performing other related duties as required.

This position is eligible for State employee benefits including pension, medical/ dental and paid time off.

Experience and Qualifications

To be considered you should have: knowledge of office systems and procedures; the ability to perform a full range of clerical tasks; good interpersonal skills with a strong focus on customer service; the ability to follow oral and written instructions; skill in performing basic math computations; the ability to operate office equipment which may include personal computers, computer terminals or other electronic equipment; the ability to read, understand and apply a variety of materials as well as the ability to accurately handle cash transactions.

Preferred candidates will have experience in a retail environment and must feel comfortable interacting with members of the public.

Physical Requirements

Incumbents in this class may be required to stand for extended periods.
