We are looking for a PM to lead cross-functional project teams and drive meaningful change while ensuring the delivery of high-impact services.

Headquartered in Wallingford, CT, CLC is a quasi-public agency of the State of Connecticut. With a team of nearly 140 employees, we partner with over 2,800 retailers to sell our tickets statewide. With a strong focus on responsible gambling, we have achieved over $1 billion in yearly sales and returned over $418 million to the state’s general fund last year alone.

As our Project Manager, you will develop and manage a variety of projects; develop and manage plans; establish effective project governance; manage vendors; facilitate meetings provide regular status reports; identify and mitigate risks and act as the primary point of contact for stake holders.

The Project Manager may work on multiple projects simultaneously as the scope of assignments evolve, either scaling down or expanding, as project(s) progress through different phases. The PM will be expected to maintain and provide written documentation on any work performed, translating technical and design tasks into project plans while communicating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

The selected candidate will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in each of the following functions:

  • Project Planning and Management
    • Defining Project Scope, Objective and Deliverables
    • Creating Project Plans, Schedules and Timelines
    • Organizing and Facilitating Internal and External Meetings
    • Preparing and Distributing Progress Reports
    • Communicating plan deviations and implementing corrective actions
    • Establishing and managing a well-defined project management process
    • Championing continuous process improvement
  • Risk/Issue Management & Mitigation
    • Identifying, tracking and comprehensively documenting project risks and issues
    • Assessing potential impact of identified risks and issues
    • Developing and implementing effective mitigation strategies
    • Proactively addressing risks to minimize disruptions and maintain progress
    • Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • Team management and team building
    • Fostering a collaborative and results-driven work environment
    • Holding teams accountable for commitments and ensuring alignment with project objectives
    • Removing roadblocks and impediments that hinder team progress
    • Leveraging organizational resources to improve team and individual capacity for project work
    • Managing vendor relationships and coordinating activities of third-party resources effectively

To be successful in this role, you should also have:

Project Management

  • Experience in varying project management methodologies, including the ability to manage projects using Agile, Waterfall, as appropriate
  • Expert in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Project
  • Diagramming tools such as Miro or Visio a plus
  • Proficiency in software development tools such as JIRA and/or Zoho
  • Ability to translate technical and design tasks into project plans, and effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple projects concurrently

Performance in Complex Situations

  • Experience in managing stakeholder expectations and maintain positive relationships
  • Expert in managing conflicts and resolving disputes among diverse stakeholders
  • Strong problem-solving skills, finding innovate solutions to move projects forward
  • Skilled in drawing out unexpressed dependencies, requirements and expectations
  • Judgement in dealing effectively and diplomatically with all levels of staff
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality

Our preferred candidate will have at least a Bachelor's Degree in business or related field, a PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification and 3+ years of leadership experience.

Substitutions allowed

Years of direct experience may be substituted for degree completion on a limited basis.
