Administrative Assistant

TITLE: Administrative Assistant – Lottery Product Support

SALARY: $63,777 - $82,530/year (hires new to state service start at minimum)

The Connecticut Lottery Corporation (CLC) is a quasi-public agency of the State of Connecticut. With a team of nearly 140 employees, we partner with over 2,800 retailers to sell our lottery and sports betting products statewide. With a strong focus on responsible gambling, we have sales of over $1.5 billion and have returned over $400 million to the state’s general fund in the last year.

We are currently seeking to hire an Administrative Assistant – Lottery Product Support to support the Marketing department and the Lottery Games Team using your strong communication, organization and interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate will be team oriented with the ability to multi-task to in order to perform a wide range of administrative functions that require a high level of accountability.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Administrative Assistant prepares routine reports and monitors results through use of Excel files to measure success of sales department initiatives, games sales and various programs. Assists in implementing retailer incentives and updating progress as appropriate. Prepares correspondence, maintains department documents and distributes to staff. Organizes department calendars and assists with scheduling daily activities. Helps plan team meetings and take notes when needed. Additionally, may occasionally work to organize off-site events.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Communication and Coordination: Daily interaction with print vendors regarding working paper edits and change requests, overseeing game deliveries, and monitoring the instant game work-back schedule to ensure timely delivery and preparedness for scheduled launches.
  • Project Management: Manage multiple projects simultaneously with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Team Engagement: Actively engage with CLC sales, vendor compliance, and warehouse teams to address business needs promptly.

Examples of Duties:

  • Support the Lottery Games Team in the development of new products and promotions.
  • Review working papers, submit change requests to vendors, and ensure all edits are accurate and complete.
  • Gather and prepare game assets for the central gaming system, website, and other applications.
  • Perform testing of consumer promotions on a variety of devices and platforms including the gaming system and GT28 vending machines.
  • Assist in maintaining relevant documentation and project schedules.

Performs related duties as required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Qualified candidates must possess a minimum of four (4) years’ experience in office support or secretarial work. Considerable knowledge of office administration; ability to interact effectively with supervisor, co-workers and the general public; ability to handle sensitive information in a confidential manner; ability to understand and apply Lottery processes, policies and procedures; ability to work independently and make appropriate-level decisions; ability to follow complex instructions and perform duties in an accurate and timely manner. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is expected requiring intermediate knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher in addition to Microsoft Outlook. College training may be substituted for experience subject to applicable rules.

Preferred Qualifications Include

  • In-depth knowledge of CT Lottery games and products.
  • Familiarity with marketing, promotion, and retail sales principles and practices.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data.
  • Ability to quickly learn new software systems. Project management skills are a plus.
  • Professional experience in marketing, advertising, sales, or merchandising; or an advanced degree in marketing, advertising, business administration, data science, economics, or a related field; or
  • Experience in servicing or marketing retail accounts, including sales, advertising, marketing communications, product research, or promotion.
