Sales Clerk

Salary Range: $20.18 - $25.41 per hour (hires new to state service start at the minimum)

The Connecticut Lottery Corporation (CLC) is hiring a part-time Sales Clerk for our Total Mortgage Arena (TMA) location in Bridgeport. This on-site, customer facing role helps drive revenue growth, player engagement, and brand strength, while also supporting CLC’s mission of delivering fun, responsible entertainment that generates hundreds of millions annually for state programs and services benefiting the people of Connecticut.

Hours of operation at TMA are 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., Sunday thru Saturday and includes holidays. The anticipated schedule for this position is:

  • Friday 4:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.

  • Saturday 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

  • Sunday 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

  • Monday 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Additional hours may be available based on agency operating needs.

As a Sales Clerk, you will:

  • deliver an excellent customer experience by assisting with accurately and quickly processing bets and payments.

  • sell tickets and redeem winnings; prepare sales slips.

  • maintain order and cleanliness perform opening and closing procedures.

  • verify/check customer identification.

  • perform other related duties as required.

Experience and Qualifications

To be considered you should have:

  • basic knowledge of office systems and processes to perform a full range of clerical tasks.

  • be comfortable dealing with members of the public.

  • be able to understand and accurately carry out oral and written instructions.

  • basic math skills to accurately handle cash transactions.

  • experience with computers.

Preferred candidates will have experience in a retail environment.

Physical Requirements

Incumbents in this class may be required to stand for extended periods. They may also need to lift and move equipment and merchandise up to 40 lbs.
