Processing Technician

SALARY: *$55,248.00-$72,247.00 annual/ $26.46-$34.61 Hourly *new hires to state service start at the minimum of the range

Located in Wallingford, Connecticut, the Connecticut Lottery Corporation (CLC) is a quasi-public agency of the State of Connecticut. With a team of nearly 140 employees, we partner with over 2,800 retailers to sell our lottery and sports betting products statewide. With a strong focus on responsible gambling, we have $1.7 billion in sales and returned $387 million to the State’s General Fund.

We are currently recruiting for a Processing Technician to work in our Retailer Services Division. This position is responsible for processing license applications from prospective retailers.

Example of Duties

  • Performs the most complex duties related to CLC’s Retailer Services processing functions
  • Examines incoming materials for accuracy, completeness and conformance to state statutes and regulations; makes corrections and/or additions as needed
  • Initiates and maintains communications with a wide variety of internal and external resources to verify information and complete transactions including other state employees, offices and outside officials such as attorneys or bank representatives
  • Interprets and applies state statutes and regulations relating to processing license applications and other retailer-related services
  • Makes decisions as to case status, transaction permissibility or admissibility
  • Responds to internal and external inquiries for information and assistance
  • Sets up and maintains office procedures, filing and indexing systems and forms for office use and to meet recurring needs
  • Maintains calendars of due dates and initiates recurring work or special clerical projects accordingly
  • Maintains records and logs
  • Prepares status or statistical reports related to processing function
  • Assists in maintaining general files in support of processing function
  • Initiates correspondence in carrying out duties
  • Types correspondence, forms, file documentation, etc. in support of processing function
  • May process fees and maintain financial records
  • May lead lower-level clerical employees assisting in carrying out processing responsibilities
  • Performs related duties as required

Minimum Qualifications

To be considered you must have three (3) years of clerical work experience with one (1) if those years including a full range of clerical duties at the level of an Office Assistant.

College training may be substituted for the general experience based on fifteen (15) semester hours equaling one-half (1/2) year of experience to a maximum of two (2) years.
